Temi vs. Hims: membership, pricing and medication options

Two charges. The Weight Loss Membership is $39 for the first month, then $149 a month, and medication is billed separately [1]. Listed medication starts at $149 a month for the Wegovy, Ozempic or Foundayo pill and $199 for a pen, so the lowest ongoing total on the published page is about $298 a month. At Temi, compounded semaglutide starts at $59.99 per vial plus a $39 service fee [5].

No. Hims's FAQ says insurance is not required and it prices everything as cash-pay [2]. The medication fee is FSA/HSA eligible, but the membership fee is not, and FSA/HSA cards cannot be stored as the payment method, so you pay by card and claim reimbursement. Temi is also cash-pay only and never bills insurance.

Not as an advertised option. On 9 March 2026 Hims said it would stop advertising compounded GLP-1s, move existing patients to FDA-approved alternatives when clinically appropriate, and keep compounded semaglutide only on a limited scale where a provider decides it is clinically necessary [3]. Temi offers compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide when a Temi physician finds them appropriate.

Hims & Hers Health is a publicly traded US company, and its FAQ says a state-licensed provider reviews each patient before prescribing [2]. In February 2026 Novo Nordisk sued Hims over compounded semaglutide; Novo dropped the case in March 2026 when the two signed a supply agreement [4]. Legitimacy and fit are different questions — compare cost and terms too.

Yes, through other routes. A Temi clinician can prescribe Zepbound, Wegovy or Foundayo when clinically appropriate; Zepbound and Foundayo are then filled by Lilly's LillyDirect pharmacy at Lilly's self-pay prices, such as $299 a month for the 2.5 mg Zepbound starting dose [9]. Temi does not sell or dispense those drugs, and no membership is required.

Not always. Hims says treatment may be decided without a video visit depending on your state, and schedules a video or audio appointment where one is needed [2]. Temi uses a written health questionnaire reviewed by a licensed Temi physician, who decides whether to prescribe. Either way, a clinician can decline to prescribe if the treatment is not a safe fit.

Per Hims's own FAQ, you can cancel any time, but cancelling the membership also cancels any active medication plan and your access to care through the platform. Cancelling only the medication plan leaves the membership running [2]. A Temi order is a single purchase; the optional Temi Care membership is not needed to keep receiving medication.

It depends on what you want to avoid. If it is the $149 monthly membership, Temi charges a flat $39 per compounded order, or can prescribe a brand-name drug you buy from the manufacturer.
