Temi vs. Weight Watchers Med+ (formerly Sequence)
Medically reviewed by Kevin Brandstetter, M.D.Last reviewed September 28, 2026
Sequence is now Weight Watchers Med+; joinsequence.com redirects there. Med+ costs $25 for the first month, then $74 or $84 a month, with GLP-1 medication billed separately from $149 a month [1]. It prescribes FDA-approved drugs and works with insurance. Temi needs no membership, sells compounded GLP-1s per vial, and can prescribe brand-name options.
The core difference
Weight Watchers Med+ is an insurance-first membership. Its page says the membership is required, membership and medication are billed separately, and GLP-1 costs are not included [1]. The first month is $25 on a 12- or 6-month plan, then $74 a month on the 12-month plan or $84 on the 6-month plan, and plans auto-renew for another term at the same rate. Care starts with a telehealth consultation with a board-certified clinician, and an insurance coordinator then chases coverage, pre-authorisations and refills. Med+ prescribes FDA-approved medication only: Foundayo, the Wegovy and Ozempic pills from $149 a month self-pay, Wegovy and Ozempic pens from $199, and Zepbound from $299. Temi takes the opposite route. It never bills insurance and has no plan term. Its own catalogue is compounded: semaglutide or tirzepatide at the per-vial price of the pharmacy you pick plus a flat $39 prescription service fee [3], reviewed from a written questionnaire by a licensed Temi physician. Where a brand-name drug fits better, a Temi clinician can prescribe Zepbound, Wegovy or Foundayo for you to buy direct from the manufacturer's pharmacy, with no membership attached [7].

Where the other provider offers more
Weight Watchers Med+ offers two things Temi does not try to. The first is insurance work. An insurance coordinator makes the calls, manages pre-authorisations and refills, and the membership lists Medicare GLP-1 Bridge support [1]. If your plan covers a brand-name GLP-1, that is worth more than any cash comparison. The second is behaviour change, the part Weight Watchers has built for decades. Med+ includes the GLP-1 Success Program, protein and macro targets, expert-led group coaching, workshops and 24/7 help in the app. Its own internal analysis of 3,325 members reported 22.2% average weight loss at 52 weeks for frequent programme users against 17.2% for non-users, while noting it was not a randomised trial and the weights were self-reported. Temi offers none of that. It is a cash-pay prescription service, not a coaching programme.
Frequently asked questions
What happened to Sequence?
WeightWatchers announced in 2023 that it would acquire Sequence, a telehealth platform for clinical weight management [2]. The service now runs as Weight Watchers Med+, with medical care provided through the affiliated Weight Watchers Clinic, and joinsequence.com now redirects to the Med+ medication page [1]. If you were searching for Sequence reviews or pricing, Med+ is the current product.
How much does Weight Watchers Med+ cost?
The membership is $25 for the first month on a 12- or 6-month plan, then $74 a month on the 12-month plan or $84 on the 6-month plan, auto-renewing at the same rate [1]. GLP-1 medication is extra. Self-pay prices start at $149 a month for a pill and $199 for a pen, so the lowest cash total is about $223 a month after the first.
Does Weight Watchers Med+ take insurance?
Yes. Its page says many GLP-1s are covered by insurance, and an insurance coordinator will try to maximise coverage and manage pre-authorisations and refills; you may still owe a copay [1]. Cash-pay options are listed too. Temi is cash-pay only and never bills insurance, so if you have coverage for a brand-name drug, Med+ is worth checking first.
Does Weight Watchers prescribe compounded semaglutide?
No. Med+ says it only prescribes FDA-approved medications, in injection and injection-free forms [1]. Temi offers compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide when a Temi physician finds them appropriate. Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved products; our compounded semaglutide vs. Wegovy page sets out what that difference means.
Is medication included in the Med+ membership?
Not for GLP-1s. The Med+ FAQ says GLP-1 medications are not included in the membership fee and the Care Team works to get them covered by insurance. For some non-GLP-1 medications, the drug is included when you use its mail-order partner, Carepoint [1]. At Temi, the medication price and the $39 service fee are shown together before you pay.
Can I cancel Weight Watchers Med+ anytime?
The Med+ offer terms describe 12- and 6-month plans that continue for the remainder of the plan term and auto-renew for another term at the same monthly rate [1]. Check the cancellation terms with Weight Watchers before joining. A Temi order is a single purchase, and the optional Temi Care membership is not needed to be treated.
Do I need a video visit for Med+?
Yes, as described. After an online quiz you have a private telehealth consultation with a board-certified clinician, who decides whether medication is safe and appropriate, followed by regular check-ins [1]. Temi uses a written health questionnaire reviewed by a licensed Temi physician, which suits people already on a stable regimen who do not need a live appointment.
What is a cheaper alternative to Weight Watchers Med+?
If you pay cash and do not need insurance support, a compounded GLP-1 can cost less than a brand-name drug plus a monthly membership. At Temi, compounded semaglutide starts at $59.99 per vial and tirzepatide at $104.99, each plus $39, with no membership [4]. Our GLP-1 cost calculator compares options over the same period.
