Drug Details
WEGOVY® may cause serious side effects including possible thyroid tumors, including cancer. Do not use if you or family have had MTC or MEN 2.
WEGOVY® injection: reduces cardiovascular risk in adults with heart disease + obesity/overweight, helps adults and children 12+ with obesity lose weight, treats adults with MASH with moderate to advanced liver scarring. WEGOVY® tablets: reduces cardiovascular risk, helps adults with obesity/overweight lose weight. Contains semaglutide.
You/family have had MTC or MEN 2. Had serious allergic reaction to semaglutide or ingredients.
Pancreas/kidney problems, type 2 diabetes with diabetic retinopathy, depression/suicidal thoughts, scheduled surgery with anesthesia, pregnant (stop 2 months before), breastfeeding. Pregnancy registry: 1-877-390-2760.
Injection: subcutaneous in stomach/thigh/upper arm, rotate sites, 1 time each week on same day. Tablets: 1 tablet on empty stomach in morning with water, swallow whole, wait 30 min before eating.
Serious: pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar (with type 2 diabetes), dehydration/kidney problems, severe stomach problems, serious allergic reactions, vision changes, increased heart rate, depression/suicidal thoughts, aspiration risk during surgery. Common: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, tiredness.
Injection: refrigerate 36-46°F, can store at room temp (up to 86°F) for 28 days in original carton. Do not freeze. Tablets: room temperature 68-77°F, keep in original bottle, dry place.
Do not use for conditions not prescribed. Do not give to others.
Active: semaglutide. Injection inactive: disodium phosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride, water for injection. Tablet inactive: salcaprozate sodium (SNAC) and magnesium stearate.
